In the ever-evolving data stack landscape, we’re going head-to-head with two of the biggest contenders in the space: Databricks vs. Snowflake. Join us as we look into whether Databricks has what it takes to challenge the reigning champion, Snowflake.

But don’t count Snowflake out just yet—it’s got some tricks up its sleeve and won’t give up its throne easily.

Jan is a full-stack engineer with a primary focus on back-end (micro)services and data sources. In his current role, he validates product requirements and technical designs and mentors other engineers. Before joining GoodData, Jan worked at CSOB, Ceska Sporitelna, Unicorn and Tesco.

Data Engineering Team Lead

As a Data Engineering Team Lead at Billigence, Jan focuses on developing and delivering innovative business intelligence and data analytics solutions. With a specialization in data cloud technologies, data transformations and data governance, Jan’s consulting track record includes several international implementations of BI solutions in Australia, the USA, the UK, Germany, and the Czech Republic.

Lukáš Langr

Lead Big Data Engineer/ML Engineer
DataSentics

Lukáš is a data engineer with background in software engineering who's been working for DataSentics for more than 3 years. During that time he worked exclusively in Databricks, at first designing and developing a feature engineering framework as part of a Persona360 Brickbuilder solution and later building and deploying a modern cloud data platform and use cases on top of Databricks Unity Catalog for Česká Spořitelna and finally the whole Erste group. In 2024 he became a Databricks Solution Architect Champion, the highest Databricks certification.
