Accessibility
GoodData is committed to making its analytics platform accessible and inclusive for all users. Accessibility is a fundamental aspect of product quality, ensuring that anyone — including users relying on assistive technologies — can create, explore, and share data insights.
Our platform is designed in alignment with leading accessibility standards and verified through independent audits.
Accessibility Standards and Compliance
GoodData has been evaluated by an independent accessibility auditor following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, Section 508, and EN 301 549 standards.
Accessibility Conformance Report
See the Accessibility Conformance Report for further information.
Applicable standards include:
- WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA
- Section 508 (U.S. Rehabilitation Act)
- EN 301 549 (EU Accessibility Requirements for ICT Products and Services)
The product was tested across multiple environments, including:
- JAWS / NVDA (Windows 11)
- VoiceOver (macOS Safari 18)
- Windows Magnifier
Overall, the audit confirmed strong conformance across most criteria, with partial limitations in focus order and screen reader announcements under macOS Safari.
Key Accessibility Features
GoodData supports a wide range of features designed to enhance accessibility for users with diverse needs:
- Keyboard Navigation: All core dashboard functionality is accessible using a keyboard.
- Screen Reader Compatibility: Dashboards and exported reports are structured for assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
- High-Contrast Theme: Enhances visibility and readability for users with low vision or color perception challenges.
- Accessible PDF Export: In Accessibility Mode, exported PDFs include structured data tables interpretable by screen readers.
- Customizable Fonts and Layouts: Text resizing and responsive design ensure readability up to 200% scaling without loss of information.
Accessibility Mode
GoodData provides a dedicated Accessibility Mode (workspace setting ENABLE_ACCESSIBILITY_MODE) to ensure a higher level of compatibility with assistive technologies.
When enabled:
- The Geochart visualization is disabled (as it cannot meaningfully convey information to screen readers).
- Tabular PDF exports are disabled.
- Visual PDF exports include embedded data tables for screen reader interpretation.
This mode ensures enhanced accessibility for users relying on assistive technology and allows organizations to meet compliance requirements more effectively.
