Experimental Feature
This is an experimental feature that is still under active development. Its behavior may change in future releases, or the feature may be removed.
You can use AI in the Analytics Catalog to generate titles and descriptions for analytical objects such as metrics, attributes, and facts. This helps you improve the quality of your semantic layer and makes AI features more accurate and easier to use.
When to Use It
Use Generate with AI when:
- an object has no description
- the existing title or description is unclear or too generic
- you want a faster starting point and then refine it manually
How It Works
Open an object in the Analytics Catalog.
In the object details, click Generate with AI.
Review the suggested title or description.
Do one of the following:
- save the suggestion
- edit it before saving
- regenerate to get a different suggestion
- click Undo (which appears after generation to the left of the Generate with AI button) to restore the title or description to its previous version
AI generation is assistive. You stay in control of the final text.
Notes
- Manual editing is always available.
- Objects hidden from AI (
isHidden=true) are excluded from AI generation.
