Agentic Capabilities

Agentic skills are specialized capabilities that extend the AI Assistant’s functionality, enabling it to perform complex analytical tasks directly from chat. Skills provide focused tools and instructions that help the Assistant understand when and how to execute specific operations like creating metrics, running forecasts, detecting anomalies, or analyzing scenarios.

Skills activate automatically through the AI Assistant based on user queries. When you ask a question that requires a specific skill, the Assistant automatically selects and uses the right one to meet your request. There is no need to explicitly choose or set up skills, as they operate seamlessly in the background.

Available Skills

The following agentic skills are available in the AI Assistant:

  • Alert — Creates and manages metric alerts with automatic notifications
  • Anomaly Detection — Finds anomalies, outliers, and unusual patterns in your data
  • Clustering — Groups data points into clusters based on similarity
  • Description — Generates or improves business-friendly descriptions for analytics objects
  • Forecasting — Forecasts future metric values based on historical data
  • Key Driver Analysis — Interprets why a metric changed between two time periods
  • Knowledge — Searches the organization’s knowledge base for documents and information
  • Metric — Creates MAQL metrics (measures, KPIs, calculated fields)
  • Visualization — Creates charts, tables, and visualizations from metrics and dimensions
  • What-If Analysis — Compares projected metric values under different business assumptions

How Skills Work

Skills are activated automatically when you ask questions that match their capabilities. For example:

  • Asking “Create a metric for gross margin” activates the Metric skill
  • Asking “What will sales look like next quarter?” activates the Forecasting skill
  • Asking “Are there any unusual patterns in revenue?” activates the Anomaly Detection skill

Each skill provides specialized tools and instructions to the AI Assistant, enabling it to perform the requested task accurately and efficiently. Skills can work independently or in combination—for example, creating a visualization often works together with other analytical skills.

This is an experimental feature that is still under active development. Its behavior may change in future releases.
