Data Value Isn’t Just Part of Your Business, It’s Your Digital Business

As the head of Marketing and Products at GoodData, it was invigorating to attend Intel Capital's Global Summit with our Founder and CEO, Roman Stanek. The over 1,100 attendees included the who's-who of technology companies from around the world and GoodData was certainly pleased to be included in such a forum.

Unlike many events, the Intel Summit is mainly about engaging in 1:1 meetings with other attendees. Intel does a great job of facilitating this and, over the course of three days, Roman and I met with at least 50 other leaders. In fact, GoodData was on the 'Top 10 Leaderboard' for companies with the most 1:1s – a reflection of the interest in our solution. In addition to the 1:1s, GoodData was also given the chance to deliver its elevator pitch to approximately 200 tech execs. It's exciting telling our story of unlocking the value of data by distributing engaging, one-to-many analytics and the response was strong – including numerous other contacts made and meetings being set up.

In case you haven’t heard it, our strategic focus revolves around three main tenants:

1. There is monetary value in your data–you just have to unlock it!

According to some of our favorite analysts, while 90% of organizations see data as a strategic asset, fewer than 10% have been able to quantify its value. Our customers’ ROI has shown us that there is immense value in your data--starting at $13.01 return on every dollar you spend.

2. Data is most valuable when it’s shared.

We have long known that the value of data is closely tied to its distribution–which is why our platform is now focused on distributing analytics at scale. We know you have networks and people that need data, from suppliers to subsidiaries, partners to purchasers. And now, you can have the tools to securely distribute dashboards they’ll love.

3. In order to create sustainable value, you need to engage.

Of course, distributing data is useless if your end users don’t engage with analytics. Usable, beautiful dashboards that incorporate an intuitive approach to data visualization user interfaces is crucial. That’s why we’ve created a series of best practices to deliver on this opportunity.

Visually Speaking

I used this one image to share with the audience how our customers are applying the three tenants above with good success; to unlock the value of their data with engaging, one-to-many analytics. Your digital business can create thousands of ‘value moments” and meaningful results with GoodData’s Analytics Distribution Platform. A picture is worth a thousand words:

Special thanks to Intel Capital for inviting GoodData to the event. Roman, I, and the GoodData team look forward to reconnecting with everyone we spoke with. We’re always happy to provide useful content and expertise on monetizing your data through scalable analytics distribution.
