From Data to Dashboards, No Middleman Required

After trying to implement other BI solutions, Time Warner Cable turned to GoodData. Within 4 weeks, 4,000 employees had a single source of truth into their sales data. Now all employees view real-time dashboards with just a click of a button.

The Challenge

GoodData needed a low cost, low maintenance integration to keep up with their business needs. They also needed an on-demand solution that could quickly manipulate business data—something that could change, customize and create new metrics without involving engineering and IT—and analyze data across multiple objects in the company's CRM system.

The Solution

Serving more than 14 million customers, Time Warner Cable is staying on top of their expanding sales efforts by arming their entire sales department with GoodData's on-demand reports and dashboards, which means:

  • GoodData's platform-as-a-service fulfills the need of advanced BI capabilities at a fraction of the time.
  • Automatic updates of the sales metrics allow 4,000 users to view the most current sales data.
  • Cross object reporting gives insight into the sales pipeline highlighting product and customer usage in easy-to-read reports and dashboards.

A Perfect Fit

On the search for an on-demand BI solution that could be incorporated directly into salesforce.com, Time Warner Cable identified GoodData through the Appexchange. "GoodData was the perfect fit for what we wanted to do," Boyer states. Within 4 weeks, GoodData implemented single sign-on, built 10 dashboards and trained their sales organization to create and customize reports and dashboards.

The Wait Is Over

Time Warner Cable's CRM solution, Salesforce, is fast and innovative, and they need a BI solution to keep up with changes. "With GoodData, we can make on the fly changes in Salesforce and the sync to GoodData is an even flow,” explains Boyer. "Now, Time Warner Cable can easily manipulate and change as needed."

It's Never Been So Easy

GoodData has been a breath of fresh air for Time Warner Cable. "We absolutely knew we needed cross object reporting and that was one of the primary reasons we selected GoodData. We also need the ability to grow our analytics when we want,” explained Boyer. GoodData’s agile philosophy allows Time Warner Cable to build out new reports, projects and dashboards on an as-needed basis. Their next project will be developed for their Service Request data.
